George is dead.
Last night he left the Earth he so pationatly loved, razzed and fought for.
To many, he was a counter-culture comedian who swore a lot...To me he was my hero who spoke the truth and of course sometimes the truth hurts. Carlin was famed for his routines about drugs, dirty words and the demise of humanity.
He died of heart failure at a Los Angeles-area hospital on Sunday. He was 71.
Carlin was an amazing blaze of energy who raised his middle finger to "the man" and crossed every line he could to advocate for the freedom of free speech and free thought.
He will be greatly missed.
